About

I’ve always enjoyed making photographs and have been doing it for 30 years now. I’m mainly self taught, but have had a lot of help developing from many fine photographers.

In my other life I am a senior IT executive for a large Telco. From this, I bring a level of professionalism and organisation to my photography you may struggle to find in other photographers. I find this is an extremely powerful addition to my creative and technical skills.

My photographic roots are in Landscape and travel photography. I am a keen mountaineer, hill walker, climber and mountain biker and for years practised my art in the wild places of the UK and other countries.

More recently I found myself taking more and more interest in portraiture.

Over the last few years I have been concentrating on this and have specialised in it. I have moulded my own distinctive style bringing elements from a range of sources. My images are high in ‘wow’ factor, I tend to use high contrast together with muted colours, striking and interesting locations, and guide my subjects into interesting and individual poses.

That is just about all. I hope you enjoy the images onhere and on my associated website, and if you have any questions regarding booking, my methods, the technicalities, or any other subject just drop a line at phil@philwinterbourne.com

    Hi Phil
I think your work is incredible and unique which is very rare given how many photographers there are out there. I would love to learn from you. Do you do any training or if not would you consider it??

    regards
    Richard
